For my low fidelity mechanism I picked the Geneva Gear. I picked this gear because I found the shape really interesting and I got excited by the strong link to watch mechanisms.
The process I used to make this was taking a screenshot of the gears from 507 Movements and having chatGPT separate the outlines. After that, I traced these rough outlines in Fusion 360, exported the sketches and printed them as stencils. These stencils were cut out by a pair of scissors, and then glued onto cardboard. The rest of the processes were adding layers of cardboard and hot glue as collars for the shafts, platforms to align the gears and generally locking together things that needed to move together.
What have I learned?
