I just put this up today, so I will make sure to review the logs after a few days and update my blog accordingly. The process was fairly simple, I have experience getting a website up on the web, but I’ve never done so much within the command line for it. Most of the nginx stuff was pretty automated, but getting the https certificate did take a moment.

I used porkbun as my domain registrar and had to learn how to edit their dns assignments so I could point the domain to my public IP.

• I spent a lot of time using “nano” command to directly edit the index/css/javascipt files
• I learned about “tee” which let me write directly to the files without using nano
• using chmod and chown to assign ownership and what new files are allowed to do
