The cable system I would like to spotlight is this art piece by Jordan Wolfson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1PxJatd9LE. Not a huge fan of him but I saw this piece circa 2015ish and I do still think about its movement. While the chains are not soft, they allow a ton of slack and really freaky movement.

Here is a progress piece of my cable system. I made a grabber motion but fought a lot with friction due to the yarn fraying on the rougher plastic spring. My idea was a grabber hook-style motion. I ended up buying plastic filament which slid much better thru the plastic string, but became really tricky to tension properly
