This week has been all about fabrication. Specifically, wrestling with the laser cutter limitation of this assignment. I am comfortable using a laser cutter but this week happened to be when two of them have decided to go down, so there’s a lot of waiting to make stuff.

Overall the demo is working decently, I mocked it up in fusion and it came out looking mostly how I’d like it to. I’m having some issues with the length of the follower, shape of the driver, and the base of the devil head, but I believe I know what I need to do. The driver came out more oblong than I expected, so I will fix that and see how it affects my other problems.

My linkage test came out alright. I kept it super simple due to the amount of work the midterm needed, but I think I was successful. I recreated a simplified linkage which controls the head movement of the Spaghetti Eater automaton. MotionGen exports worked fantastic in this really simple scenario.
