First time with the new class structure and group! I must admit that I was a bit overwhelmed in our session with the amount of information we are going over. I realize that a lot of it is stuff we have been building on, but it does take me a little time to connect the dots…
The worksheet was much less intimidating than I had thought it would be! It really clicked for me with the three cat pixel exercises how nested for-loops will go thru the pixels of an image and the ways in which you can manipulate them within the loops. The vertical deleted pixels were where everything aligned for me, and I felt a lot better.
The mirror problem was tricky, as I really tried to use the brightness function but I confused myself with having to use the color function as well, so I let it be. Instead I averaged out all of the RGB numbers for each pixel which served as its brightness, and then put the cut off for black or white at 127 (halfish of 255).
The color spectrum felt a little disingenuous for me because while looking at the color mode examples on the reference page I found a solution to the question. I will say that I feel like my understanding of why that works is solid, and I really liked having color mapped over 1-100.
